The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 7.5
Many different media formats coexist nowadays, each with its own advantages and drawbacks; that is why converting between formats has become such a frequent activity when users seek compatibility with their devices.
Oposoft Video Converter can help you convert an extensive array of video and audio formats.
You will probably find no difficulty in using this software from the start as it has a very intuitive interface. The design of the interface will help you follow the proper workflow successfully. Multiple conversion tasks are allowed in a single session, which you can create by importing individual files or complete folders. Luckily, a very wide range of input formats is allowed, and as you add new files, you can also choose audio tracks and subtitles if available. However, the program is limited in relation to other similarly priced software, because it lacks some of the features that are becoming frequent, such as ripping DVD contents, downloading Internet video and embedding external subtitles.
You can preview the contents of the to-convert files, and while watching the videos, you can take snapshots of your preferred scenes. Similarly, the program allows some basic edition on the videos. Thus, you can trim the video length to extract just a segment. In addition, the frame can be cropped to show only a part of it. Should you desire to merge various files, you can do so just by activating the corresponding checkbox. Moreover, there are other available effects, such as rotating or flipping the image, changing picture parameters or adjusting sound volume.
Differently from more specific converters by the same developer, this one enables practically every existing format as output. In order to help you choose the right parameters, the program comes with several conversion presets, which have been identified by the names of the supporting devices. Although these target profiles can be customized, you cannot create new profiles for later use.
In general, Oposoft Video Converter has the advantage of supporting multiple input as well as output formats. It has a nice and intuitive interface. It allows some authoring actions so it can be used as a basic video editor. Although it certainly lacks some of features present in other similar software, this does not make it less valuable. In my opinion, this software is worth little more money it costs, if we compare it with other more specific products by the same developer.
